Facility Audits

As a carrier you have certain obligations and responsibilities which you must meet with all the time and like many other carriers you must have a proactive approach to facility audits. You will most definitely want to know where you stand before regulatory officials initiate an audit.

After an official audit has already take place our customers look to us to help them address compliance concerns and implement programs to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained in the future.

Audits are conducted to ensure compliance with National Safety Code in Canada and U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Proactive approach looks at your due diligence driver files, maintenance files and logbooks, company policies and various other aspects.

Voluntary audits are looked upon favorably by both Canadian and U.S. Government Agencies. In situations following a non-voluntary audit in the aftermath of an official compliance audit, Stateside can provide the direction and recommendations to address regulatory concerns.

CSA (Compliance, Safety, Accountability) rolled out in December 2010, with a mandate to regulate and promote Safety by assessing a motor carrier's on-road performance and assigning a threshold factor to Unsafe Driving, Fatigue Driving (Hours–of-Service), and Vehicle Maintenance. Over 60 % in any area could trigger a Compliance Audit resulting in fines and/or cancellation of your Operating Authority.

To check your Motor Carrier Safety Measurement System Rating (SMS) go to http://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/SMS/ and simply enter your USDOT or MC Number.

Our Safety & Compliance Program is designed to help you maintain a Satisfactory Rating.
